Totem Rope Sculpture

An original, one-of-one hand-knotted rope sculpture inspired by the totem as a symbol of connection and identity. Repeating forms build upon one another, reflecting the people, places and experiences carried through life and layered over time.

Recycled manila rope, braided cotton rope, jute, sisal and driftwood give the work its natural texture and dimensional construction. At 6.5 feet high, its vertical composition has a strong sculptural presence. Layered knots and repeated forms draw the eye through the piece, turning individual materials into a unified reflection on the influences that shape who we are.
